heh well, my day off became 5 hours of conference calls.
well i was gonna skip an update tonite, cuz my quality of entries has become
quite boring, but 2 things occured:
- the EX commented on the missed days
- i thought of something new to write about
last year, my parents came up to celebrate Thanksgiving. it was the first time
we did thanksgiving in my house, the first time in a few years that we actually
were celebrating thanksgiving together. i cooked the meal also for the first
time - and of course my mom told me where i was doing things wrong *:)
it was a good time. of course, we were kinda bored since my parents arent into
watching football, nor do they really want to go hang out at the mall to go
shopping the day after. but its nice to try and have a family thing when you
can. This year, i think they're coming up again, and i might see if i can
invite some friends over also. i'm thinking about doin an asian themed meal,
using some chinese spices/sauces on the turkey, and some asian side dishes,
and if my vegetarian friends come, making some tofu dishes. then making a rice
based stuffing. i have to admit that this isnt all an original thought. This
month's food and wine magazine has about 5 different ways to do thanksgiving...
and one of them was asian themed. but i had a few other ideas for it. the big
problem, is not having the mashed potatos. the gravy. the stovetop stuffing.
those are the True pieces of thanksgiving.
maybe i'll do a combo of things... we'll see.
