I forgot to mention that when i was changing planes in curacao, i saw a us navy radar plane. one of the ones that can land on an aircraft carrier. i bring this up because today, we had a sail-by from a french naval warship. i dont know which kind, all i know is it was narrow, and long, and had what i can only assume was an anti-submarine helicopter on the back.
i seem to have neglected to mention that back in october '99 there was a 10 foot (2.1m) high wave that slammed into the island. a few things were destroyed. one was this wonderful restaurant called The Green Parrot. Also destroyed, was the flamingo hotel's dive pier. this will mean something to you if you've been to bonaire before... i got pictures.
